Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board

The Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board (PAAB) is made up of nine members appointed by the Mayor and City Council to four year terms. The Board, which meets monthly to review airport policies, makes recommendations to the City Council on major airport projects, concession contracts and leases. Membership is voluntary and uncompensated.

Verma Pastor, a retired educator who served as director of bilingual education for the Arizona Department of Education is the current Chair of the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board. Pete Gorraiz, a 32-year veteran of the Phoenix Fire Department and current president of the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association (UPFFA) - Local 493 is the Vice Chair.
