Mr. Pete Gorraiz, Vice Chair
Gorraiz was born and raised in Phoenix, is a 32-year veteran of the Phoenix Fire Department, and has been a
Captain since 1992. He is an Executive Board Member of United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association (UPFFA) - Local
493 since 1980, serving in various capacities. Today he is the president of the UPFFA, which represents over
2,500 fire fighters in Phoenix, Glendale, Tempe, Chandler and Peoria and is also president of the Mountain
Preserve Reception and Conference Center Inc., and president of the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Charities.
Gorraiz currently serves as a board member on the Phoenix and Tempe Fire Fighters Trust Fund boards and is a
member of the 10 City Wellness Fitness Initiative and Cabinet and board member of Valley of the Sun United Way.
