What does this mean for the traveler?

For pre-approved travelers, this means they will be able to leave on their shoes, light outerwear, belt, and keep their laptop in its case. Additionally, the 3-1-1 compliant liquids and gels bag will be allowed in a carry-on bag at select screening lanes.

What to Look For:

Passengers should look on their boarding passes for an indication of TSA PreCheck eligibility. Eligible passengers will see the TSA PreCheck logo on their boarding passes. Boarding passes include kiosk printed passes, web check-in and mobile boarding passes.

How do travelers participate?

Currently, select travelers are eligible through their frequent flier programs. Or, they can enroll through the CBPs Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS Trusted Traveler programs. For more information on Global Entry, visit http://globalentry.gov/.

The TSA will be expanding the PreCheck program to allow interested travelers the opportunity to apply online and visit an enrollment site to provide identification and fingerprints.
