Water Conservation

Xeriscaping concepts are used for aesthetically pleasing and functional landscaping while minimizing the maintenance requirements and the attraction of birds and other animals around the Airport. Sky Harbor was awarded a Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Award: Water Conservation and Xeriscaping for its water conservation program. Turf areas have been converted to Xeriscape landscaping with native low-water use.
