Aircraft spotting or plane spotting can be an enjoyable and rewarding hobby. There are several locations at Phoenix Sky Harbor where watching and photographing airplanes can be done safely.

Public Areas

For the most part, areas where the public can go, are usually the safest bets for spotting and photographing planes. Public areas at PHX Sky Harbor that offer some of the best airport views are:

  • Atop the Terminal 4 Parking Garage

  • Atop the Terminal 3 Parking Garage

  • The Terminal 3 PHX Sky Train® Station (center and south runways)

 

For ticketed passengers behind security, the Terminal 4 D Concourses and the Terminal 3 South Concourse offer superb views of the center and south runways.

Safety First

We want all airport visitors to be safe and secure, and we encourage vigilance among all passengers, visitors, and employees. Some public areas might be restricted or prohibited in the event of a special event or VIP visit, such as the arrival of Air Force One. Events like those often require higher levels of security that could impact the availability of public areas throughout the airport.
