Prohibited Parking Signs Added to Sky Harbor Boulevard
Safety is a top priority for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and with an increase in drivers parking illegally in the ADOT access ramps and roads leading to Sky Harbor Boulevard, the Aviation Department Operations Division and Public Safety and Security Division have installed additional signs enforcing the “No parking, stopping, or standing” messaging.
“Police will issue citations with fines starting at $100 to drivers who park illegally,” said Brandon Stevens, an officer at the Phoenix Police Department's Airport Bureau. “Stopping on the access ramps and roadsides poses a public safety risk to those illegally parking on the roadway and other incoming vehicles.”
People are encouraged to use the PHX Sky Train® stations at 44th and 24th streets as pickup and drop-off spots, especially on peak travel days when there is heavy congestion of vehicles near the terminals. Sky Harbor’s three free 24-hour Cell Phone Waiting Lots are parking areas where drivers may wait in their vehicles for passengers while they deplane, pick up luggage and walk out to the curb. The lots are east of Terminal 4, west of the West Economy Garage, and south of the 44th Street PHX Sky Train® Station. Learn more about our cell phone lots.
