The Aviation Department, Planning & Environmental Division (P&E) is seeking a motivated and versatile Construction Liaison (Planner II) to join the team. The Construction Liaison (Planner II) supports activities associated with the airport planning and development, airport compatibility, capital improvement planning, and airport layout plan maintenance for the Phoenix Airport System. In addition, the Construction Liaison (Planner II) participates in planning projects and studies related to airport construction, airport capacity and efficiency, attends design and construction progress meetings, and reviews plans prepared by consulting engineers/architects. This position reports to the Grants Coordinator (Planner III) and works closely with multiple sections and divisions within the Aviation Department.
The Aviation Department manages and operates the Phoenix Airport System which consists of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley Airport, and Goodyear Airport. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has consistently been ranked as one of the top ten busiest airports in the nation. Serving more than 130,000 passengers daily, with over 1,200 flights per day, the airport has a total economic impact of more than $38 billion per year.
Ideal candidate:
- Knowledge of airport regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and Advisory Circulars.
- Familiarity with engineering terminology as well as construction practices and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, especially under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in developing and carrying out research, writing reports, or developing work programs to solve problems.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
