Vigilant Employee is Recognized with FLY Award

A driver got a flat tire on a busy airport road, but a PHX employee arrived on scene and ensured everyone was safe and secure.

The car driver experienced a blowout on a recent Friday night while leaving the airport on Sky Harbor Boulevard. After being parked on the side of the road for about five minutes, Marcus A., an operations assistant with the City of Phoenix Aviation Department, drove up and turned on his flashing emergency lights and placed cones around the disabled car.

Marcus directed traffic around the disabled car in chilly weather for about 90 minutes until the tow truck arrived.

“I would like to give a shoutout to this man who was kind, patient, and so professional,” the grateful driver said in nominated Marcus for recognition. For that, he has been recognized by our Customer Service On the FLY team (F = Friendly. L = Let me help. Y = You.)
