FLY- Technology Employee Saves a Motorcyclist’s Life
Clayton C., a Technology Division employee, sprang into action after encountering a serious motor vehicle accident near 42nd Street and the road that runs in front of the Southwest Airlines hangar. The accident involved a motorcycle and an SUV, leaving the motorcycle rider with severe injuries. Clayton immediately positioned his City vehicle to block traffic, ensuring a safe space for treatment. He then jumped into action, using a bystander's purse strap to improvise a tourniquet and stop the rider's bleeding. When one tourniquet failed, a police officer arrived with a proper device, and Clayton successfully applied it just in time before paramedics arrived. For Clayton's resourcefulness and bravery, he was recognized by our On-the-FLY team (F = Friendly. L = Let me help. Y = You.)
