Tempe and Phoenix Sign Deal to Amend IGA, End Lawsuits
The cities of Tempe and Phoenix signed a deal on Dec. 11 to change a 30-year-old intergovernmental agreement that will end lawsuits filed by both cities.
The IGA concerned property rights near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and the lawsuits were regarding whether residential buildings were allowed in land bordering both cities. Representatives of Phoenix and Tempe have been negotiating in good faith and Andrew Cohn, a member of the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board and Director of Real Estate for Levine Investments, helped broker negotiations.
