Celebrating our Navigators and Volunteers
The airport had a blast celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Week. Throughout the week, several guests spent time shadowing our Navigators to show their appreciation including Deputy Aviation Director for Public Relations Heather Shelbrack; Deputy Aviation Director of Strategy, Policy, and Administration Matthew Heil; Assistant Aviation Director and Chief Operating Officer Sarah Demory; and Assistant Aviation Director and Chief Development Officer Jay DeWitt.
You may have noticed an extra dose of purple scattered throughout the terminals including signage, balloons, and even on Flight Information Display Systems. This year’s hat theme celebrated the variety of hats our volunteers wear and the backgrounds they’ve had. The program includes more than 360 Navigators, 23 of which have volunteered for more than 20 years and 11 who are part of the “Compass Club,” volunteering for more than 5,500 hours.
