90th Anniversary Employee Spotlight: Allen G. – A Lifelong Love for Aviation Comes Full Circle
Meet Allen G., an Accountant III with the City of Phoenix Aviation Department, who has played a key role in managing the financial framework behind Phoenix Sky Harbor’s continued growth and development since 2005. His passion for aviation is more than just a profession—it’s deeply personal.
As a child, Allen would visit the observation deck at Terminal 2 with his family, marveling at aircraft and the energy of the airport. He recalls fond childhood memories flying from Terminal 1 on Frontier Airlines in the 1970s to visit family in Canada, back when passengers boarded planes from the tarmac. Terminal 2’s attractions, including a game room, and the thrill of travel helped spark what would become a lifelong connection to the world of aviation.
Allen’s love for flying is cemented by experiences at Phoenix Sky Harbor. Today, Allen channels his passion into purpose, contributing to the financial side of the airport’s evolution with the same excitement he felt as a young visitor on the observation deck. His journey from wide-eyed traveler to airport professional reflects not only the growth of Sky Harbor but also the enduring spirit of those who help it soar.
