Phoenix Sky Harbor Makes Summer Safety a Priority
Phoenix Sky Harbor promotes safety in order to keep our employees and visitors safe. When we say that safety is the highest priority for our employees and guests, we mean that training our workers to be aware of hazards – from hearing conservation and heat stress to safe baggage handling and defensive driving – is an essential task.
The folks responsible for delivering that training and those messages also encourage safe practices by gathering members of the airport community together to see and learn the importance of safety.
The Aviation Safety Expo is held in mid-April by the Aviation Department Public Safety and Security Division. Participants from airport government partners, airlines, public safety representatives and others offer information and give vendors a chance to show their wares.
This year, scheduled exhibitions by expo participants include unified command vehicles by the Aviation Department and Arizona Air National Guard and up-close presentations of Phoenix Fire Department turnout gear.
Another eye-catching demonstration given by APS shows the dangers of live electricity.
