January Dementia-Friendly Air Travel Workshop Recap

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport recently hosted its award-winning Dementia Friendly Air Travel Workshop on Jan. 22, continuing its commitment to assisting passengers with dementia and their caregivers in navigating the airport experience.

The initiative, launched in 2021, provides specialized programming to support travelers with dementia. Since hosting its first in-person workshop in 2022, the program has grown in popularity, offering valuable guidance on preparing for air travel, security screening, and navigating the terminal with ease.

This year’s workshop featured both in-person and virtual options, making it more accessible to attendees. The workshop brought together representatives from the airlines, TSA, and the City of Phoenix Aviation Department to share valuable information and tips while answering questions from those in attendance.

Sky Harbor remains dedicated to enhancing accessibility and ensuring a smooth journey for all passengers. The next workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.
