Check Out a New Destination from PHX

American Airlines is launching new service between Phoenix and Appleton, Wisconsin starting Feb. 15. This is the first time nonstop flights are being offered between the two cities. The flights will be operated by American Eagle affiliate Envoy Air on board an Embraer E175 regional jet and will run on Saturdays.

Appleton is part of the Fox Cities communities. This area also includes the cities of Kaukauna, Menasha, and Neenah, the villages of Combined Locks, Fox Crossing, Harrison, Hortonville, Kimberley, Little Chute, and Sherwood, and the towns of Buchanan, Clayton, Freedom, Grand Chute, Greenville and Harrison.

The Fox Cities offer a variety of activities for visitors. Here are some recommendations:

Visit the Hearthstone Historic House Museum which is a beautiful Victorian landmark and the first residence in the United States to be powered by hydroelectricity.

Did you know that while Harry Houdini was not born in Wisconsin, he did claim Appleton as his hometown? Learn more about his interesting life and achievements by visiting the History Museum at the Castle. It features a dedicated gallery to the magician. While you’re there, check out the other captivating rotating exhibitions throughout the museum.

The region also offers a variety of outdoor activities – something for every season. Check out more than 100 miles of walking, hiking and biking trails. High Cliff State Park offers six different trails with great water views.

Get out on the water on either the Fox River or Lake Winnebago or enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter. You won’t be bored. During baseball season, be sure to catch a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game. They are a Wisconsin Minor League Baseball Team. Fun fact, Green Bay, Wisconsin is about 40 minutes away. They will be hosting the 2025 NFL Football Draft.

The area also features many live performances throughout the year at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. You’ll find concerts, Broadway shows and much more. The area also offers a number of breweries and local shopping opportunities.
