Charm City Offers Many Activities for Visitors

Baltimore, Maryland, or Charm City as it is called, is known for its sports culture, history and seafood. Nonstop flights from Phoenix to Baltimore on Southwest make it easy to get to this Maryland city. Planning a trip? Here are some tips on what to see and do.

Inner Harbor is an iconic Baltimore destination. It features a variety of attractions such as the National Aquarium, the USS Constellation, a historical Civil War-era ship that can be toured, and the Maryland Science Center. Visitors can also enjoy the local restaurants, shops, and walking along the waterfront promenade. Water taxis offer great harbor views too.

Sports culture is huge in Baltimore, and visitors will be delighted at the number of options to take in a game depending upon the season they visit. Camden Yards is home to the Orioles. This historic ballpark is known for being one of the most beautiful in the country. Tours are available even during baseball’s off-season. Football more your speed? Baltimore offers a rich history and features many activities. Francis Scott Key was inspired to write “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Fort McHenry National Monument. His home is now a museum and available for tour. Visitors can also stop by Westminster Hall and Burying Ground.

Fells Point is also a unique place to visit. It’s a waterfront neighborhood known for its beautiful rowhouses and cobblestone streets. Visit local restaurants, pubs, and shops.

No trip to Baltimore would be complete without enjoying some local seafood. Maryland is known for its blue crabs, and what could be better than some crab cakes and Old Bay Seasoning, which was first created in Baltimore? Lexington Market and Faidley’s Seafood are the most famous places to try.
