A call came into the Phoenix Sky Harbor Command Center around 9 p.m. on a Friday night in regards to a missing person. Aviation Dispatcher Kat O., picked up the call and gathered all the details from a family who was in distress because a relative with dementia could not be located. After more than six hours of extensive work, Kat with the help of her co-worker Barry E. was able to find the missing person entering a cab. She relayed the information to Officers Hoenigman, Ippel, and Taylor who later traced the cab ride to a nearby hotel. They were able to reunite the family members.  

A supervisor who nominated the team for the great teamwork said, “The time and collaboration between multiple units, humility, patience and understanding”… was the reason she chose to share the experience.
