Voluntary Acquisition & Relocation Services (VARS)

VARS is a voluntary "buy-out" program for eligible property owners to sell their properties to the city of Phoenix and relocate to a comparable dwelling outside of the program area and outside other noise-impacted areas. The program area is generally within 7th Street to the west, 44th Street to the east, Washington Street to the north and University Drive to the south.

After ten years of reaching out to the community and purchasing properties, the VARS Program stopped accepting applications on December 31, 2012. The program is now only purchasing eligible properties that are in process.

Phoenix Sky Harbor remains committed to being a good neighbor and will continue to be a resource for connections to services from other city departments. For questions about the Program or to connect with other city services, please call the CONNECT Line at 602-443-8065.
